Peace and Joy to you all,
As I mentioned on Sunday, due to upcoming concerts in the sanctuary, we will need to adjust our annual decorating routine. Here is how I hope it will unfold.
Saturday the 29th (THIS SATURDAY) we will meet at noon at the church to hunt, find and cut a tree for the church. We will need some strong backs, a large pick-up or trailer, a chain saw and people to use all of them.
On Sunday — after worship we will change into GRUB CLOTHES and bring said tree into the church – setting it up and decorating it. We will also wash the globes in the sanctuary as we will have the ladder in there.
On Thursday, December 4th beginning at 5:00 we will decorate the sanctuary with garland and wreaths.
On December 5th — We are going to be LOOKING GOOOOOD!
I hope you can help out — let me know about Saturday so I have an idea that we can make this happen.
Thank You All,
Gary
Blessings to you all,
This Sunday will be a celebration of our growing life together. Last week we received the gift of 4 new members into the church and this Sunday we will receive the gift of a little one into the wider world of the Christian faith through baptism as Mason Robert Grant joins us. We will be focusing on the following scriptures: Ezekiel 34:11-16, Ephesians 1:15-23 and Matthew 25:31-46 with a message entitled: “Gospel Extensions.”
If that was not enough — there is even more — WOW — does it get any better — it certainly does. We will be receiving the “Estimates of Giving” for the 2009 calendar (fiscal) year during the service and then we will follow that with our annual trek to Diane’s Delectable Dinner in the Fellowship Hall. You should have received a pledge packet either in the mail or at church on Sunday. My pastoral suggestion is to prayerfully consider your level of giving to the church and its ministry for the upcoming year, and bring the form with you or use one that will be in the pews this Sunday as we look to our future work and life together.
If you have a bit of free time around 10:00 on Saturday the 22nd, if you can stop in and help set up for the dinner, that would be great.
Peace and Joy to you all,
In Faith,
Gary
Blessings to you all,
This Sunday’s service will focus on Judges 4:1-7 and Matthew 25:14-30 with a message entitled: “In God We Trust.” We will be receiving 4 new members into our church family on Sunday as well.
You can get prepared for Sunday by attending and feasting upon the ham dinner on Saturday night beginning at 6:00 in the Fellowship Hall.
See you then
Gary
This Sunday we will focus on 1 Thessalonians 2:9-13 and Matthew 23:1-12 with a sermon entitled: “Saint Search.” Where do we find saints? We will not have communion this Sunday but will have it on the 9th. New member luncheon following coffee hour. Do not forget to turn your clocks “BACK” this weekend.
In Faith,
Gary
