Me Again —

Sunday is only two days away — can’t wait.  We will focus on James 1:17-27 with a bit of help from Mark 7:1-8.  James is an interesting book — only 4 or 5 pages.  We will incorporate some of the Myers-Briggs Personality Type material for some self-knowledge and then delve into James to see how your type might experience some of what James has to say.  Should be very interesting — or at least different.

God Bless You All,

Gary

Dearest Church Family,

We are blessed as a community, a growing community, growing older, growing younger – growing deeper.  One of the blessings I hold close to me is the rich diversity of age and stage within the faith family.  We are blessed with young people, in fact we have between 40 and 50 children of Sunday School age.  There in lies the issue.  We need more teaching teams (groups of adults willing to give a bit of time, energy and spirit, to grow with our younger ones.  Sunday School will begin on the 13th and Donna Lalumiere (877-2851) would love to hear from you if you sense a tug to plug into this vital ministry.  The commitment would not be for every Sunday but to be part of a team which would form around a particular class.

May God’s Blessings be with you

Gary

Blessings All,

Tonight a group from our church will be setting up, preparing, serving a cleaning up for the Community Dinner in Middlebury.  Tomorrow an 8-person team will be helping to build the Habitat House in Middlebury and on Sunday — we will be gathering to worship in Vergennes.  The focus scripture will be John 6:56-69 with a sermon entitled “Digesting the Gospel.”

John and I are making plans for the church retreat in September (18-20).  The retreat in Burlington will offer plenty of time to relax and reflect in a beautiful setting.  We will also focus a bit of our time and attention on the book “The Shack” by William Young.  We are hoping to have copies available this Sunday if you wish to read it.  The price for the book is $15.00 if money is a bit of a challenge — the price is $0.00.  The cost of the retreat will be $125.00 two nights and 5 meals.  John and I are available if you have any questions.

Have a blessed weekend

In Christ,

Gary

Blessings to you all,

Prayers of blessing to Wendy Andrews as she and Jeff Wimble get married Saturday.

If that was not enough to celebrate — get this — we will be worshipping again this Sunday.  The scriptures are:  1 Kings 2:10-12 and 3:3-14 and John 6:51-58 with a sermon entitled:  “Christmas In August.”  Sounds refreshing.  If that is not enough — I understand that there is some Special Music planned for the service.  We may even include some singing and praying also.  I am not sure if it can get much better than this.

Have a blessed summer weekend — see you on Sunday.

In Christ,

Gary
