Blessings All,
So far we have 31 people signed up to walk this Sunday in the Addison County Crop Walk.  WOW!!  This year the organizers will not be providing T-shirts.  I know many of us “old” walkers have a plethora of Crop Walk T-shirts.  If you have extra t-shirts and would be willing to part with them — let’s bring them in on Sunday so those who are without a Crop Walk T-shirt can have one for the walk and to take home.  It would be great if we all had Crop Walk T-shirts for the walk.

If you would like to walk – you can sign-up this Sunday — if you would like to sponsor walkers — please bring a check to church (CWS – CROP) or send it to the church and we will make sure the walkers get the donations which will all go to fight hunger/poverty issues world wide.  25% of all funds raised will be returned to the area food shelves in out county.

In Christ,

Gary

The Confirmation Class is planning a trip to Plymouth and Boston to experience some of the early history of our denomination (Pilgrims and Puritans,Tea Parties, Sam Adams etc.).  You are invited to a spaghetti supper to share in fellowship and if you are so inclined to contribute to the upcoming trip with your financial resources.  The supper will be on Saturday, October 17th at 6:00.  There is no set fee, simple free-will donation if your heart is so warmed.

This Sunday we will have a worship service beginning at 9:30 in the morning — you can add that to your calendar.  The scriptures are:  Numbers 11,4-6, 10-16, 24-29 and Mark 9:38-41 with a sermon entitled:  “Following.”

Choir will be practicing beginning at 8:15 — Crop Walk sign-up will continue — and our first adult ed session will happen after fellowship time as we focus on being a Progressive Christian in the world.   We will meet in the fellowship hall beginning with a short video followed by some discussion.  Should be insightful.

Peace in Christ,

Gary

Blessings All,
This year’s Crop Walk will be held in Middlebury on Sunday the 4th of October.  You may sign up in the Fellowship Hall following service this Sunday if you would like to walk in it.  If you wish to financially support the walkers and in so doing — support efforts to fight hunger around the world and in our community, you may send a check or bring a check to the church on Sunday made out to CWS (Church World Service).  We will spread the giving out to those who are walking from our church.

God Bless You All,

Gary

Hi y’all

Peace to you all this weekend…may the sun shine upon you!

This Sunday we welcome back the Sunday School group for a wonderful year.  Also, we will read James 3:1-12 (now hold your tongue) and Mark 8:27-38 (Who do YOU say I am?)…we see what was started by many, but must be continued by YOU.

Also, someone at the John Graham Shelter needs baby clothes (6-12 months) and a crib…if you can help, call the Shelter.

See you all on Sunday School Sunday and Welcome Back.

Peace,

John
