A Blessed and Safe New Year to all,
This Sunday’s service will focus on Ephesians 3:1-12 and Matthew 2:1-12.  We will sing some Christmas Hymns again as we wrap up the season with Matthew’s birth narrative. (Three Kings Sunday).
Following the service we will DE-DECORATE the church taking down the garland and trees and putting things away for another year — next year.   We may need a bit of muscle for one of the trees– if you want to wear or bring grub clothes, that might be good.
The baptisms scheduled for this Sunday have been postponed until the 17th due to family schedules.
Again,
A Blessed New Year to you all,
In Christ,
Gary

Just a reminder that Christmas is on Friday the 25th — which means Christmas Eve is on the 24th again this year — We have two service — the 4:30 service will be for children and families — and the 7:30 Service (note the change of time) will be the Traditional Candle Light Service.

If you cannot make those services — there is the Christmas Morning Service at 10:00.

Thank you and Blessings

Gary

Blessings to you all,
A couple of items for this Sunday — the hospitality committee is coordinating a cookie exchange for coffee hour this Sunday, the 20th and next Sunday the 27th.  Bring cookies to share and take some home — we will eat some while we are here.
This Sunday afternoon (4:30 - in the sanctuary) we will have our annual Remembrance/Reflection Service recognizing that all is not well in our lives and in our world.  This service will offer a time of quiet - a time of reflection - as we honor the pains and the losses in our lives in the midst of Christmas time.  If you know of anyone who has suffered a loss or is dealing with some heavy issues — this service might be made for them as we offer a time to light candles and remember loved ones gone and burdens carried.
In Christ

Blessings to all and goodwill towards all,
We enter the 3rd Sunday of Advent. JOY is the word of the day. And we will read Isaiah 12:2-6 (Rejoice!) and Luke 3:7-18 (the Brood of Vipers speech from Luke but he also calls for transformation) as we approach Christmas with ‘Ode to Joy’.
We have a baptism - Eleanor Elizabeth Brooks and a 3rd Advent Sunday candle lighting (The Kayharts).

Next Friday we will have a Seasoned Ones gathering to remember Christmases past and to have lunch together.

Confirmation class wil meet with Gary.

If you took a stickynote for a gift then you should bring it in on Sunday.

Be safe this weeknd.
Peace,
John

Blessings all,

This Sunday is the second Sunday in Advent and the first Sunday in December — thus we will be sharing Communion.  The texts for the day are:  Malachi 3:1-4 and Luke 3:1-6 with a message entitled:  “Making Space.”

The annual “Giving Tree” has been set up in the Fellowship Hall (bulletin board) for anyone wishing to purchase a gift for a needy person in our area. The Mission Committee will also set up the Alternative Giving tables with 10,000 Villages items as well as Habitat and Heifer options for Christmas giving.

Following Coffee Hour anyone wishing to join our community of faith as a member is invited to an informal luncheon by the Deacons as we discuss our faith journey and get to know each other a bit better.

See you on Sunday

Hope and Peace to you all,

In Christ,

Gary
