Blessings and Peace to you all,
Just a quick reminder that we will be worshipping this Sunday at 9:30 in the sanctuary, sharing the ups and the downs — the valley and peak experiences of life together. The scriptures are: Isaiah 43:16-21 and John 12:1-8 with a sermon entitled: “Sensing the Passion.” The message may be a bit edgy (PG-13 maybe PG-14 or PG-92). As you read the passage from John, what might have been going on in Mary’s mind as she poured out $40,000 worth of perfume on Jesus’ feet? What was she thinking of when she wiped his feet with her hair?
We will receive the One Great Hour of Sharing offering which goes to address crises around the world. We will have the Watch Night Vigil sign-up sheet set as well as set up speakers for our Passion Dramatic Reading next Sunday. This Sunday we will continue our discussion of Sabbath by Wayne Muller - following coffee hour. We will focus on pages 123-153. We will talk about the “Gospel of Consumption” and the “Selling of Unhappiness” while focusing on the need for down time.
Just a reminder: The youth will be serving a Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday, March 27th beginning at 6:00. It is free (no charge). If you wish to make a donation to the upcoming youth trip to Heifer Project’s Overlook Farm — you certainly can do that. Checks can be made out to the church.
Mike is putting together the newsletter. If you have info to include - please send in an email.
May God’s Blessings surround you all,
Gary

Blessings All,
The Confirmation Class/Youth of our church would like to invite you to a spaghetti supper on Saturday, March 27th beginning at 6:00 in the Fellowship Hall. We are planning a trip to Heifer Project’s Overlook Farm in Rutland, Mass. April 12th - 14th. This will be an experiential/learning trip as we will learn about food issues worldwide, join in the chores of the farm and sleep and eat in the farm’s global village. A free-will offering will be received at the supper to support this trip. So, come out and enjoy great fellowship, great food all for a great cause.
Thank you
Gary

Blessing to each and every one!
Sunday we will read 2 Corinthians 5:16-21 and Luke 15:1-3, 11b-32 - the marvelous story of the Prodigal Son…but under what definition of ‘prodigal’ are we speaking? We will look into a dysfunctional family…plenty of angst and pain to go around…who is dissing who and why does it hurt so much? But, covering all this pain in Luke, is the overriding fact that someone waits for us to turn toward them and, finally, we are called back into life together. Who awaits? And will an asprin relieve the pain? Come Sunday and find out who is the pain!!!!
Also, Confirmation class will meet with Gary during the children’s time and we will be discussing the third part of “Sabbath” after the worship service, so come and enjoy.
Peace,
John

Oh, and do not forget to move your clocks ahead or you will be late for church and we will all know the terrible truth!!
Peace,
John
