Blessings all as we head into a very meaning-filled weekend.

Our worship service on Sunday will focus on John 16:12-15 with a message entitled: “Are You Ready?” The service will include a litany of leaving — better known as a Litany of Sabbatical and Transition as Betty and I prepare to begin our sabbatical experience and John prepares to expand his ministry here.

Hope to see you on Sunday

Peace to you all,

Gary

Peace to you all,

This Sunday will be a full - packed - and by the grace of God - SPIRIT FILLED day.

Sunday’s scriptures are: Acts 16:16-34 and John 17:20-26 with a sermon entitled: “Breaking Loose.” Contrary to some ideas — this has nothing to do with our coming sabbatical.

We will celebrate Confirmation as four young people have chosen to confirm their baptism and join the church.
Following a CAKE - filled coffee hour we will gather to experience a workshop on spirituality presented by Chessy Kelley. If that is not enough — just wait — at 3:00 the Addison Association will gather in the lower level of the Middlebury Congregational Church to hear from their new pastor Andy Nagy-Benson and following that gather in the sanctuary of the church to share in the his installation into and with that church beginning at 4:00. Everyone is invited - in fact we have 3 openings for delegates to both gatherings.

Blessings to you

Gary

Blessings to you all,
Sunday there will be church.  This Sunday it will begin at 9:30AM, park in the back or in the front - or walk if you would like, BUT GET HERE!  It is Mother’s Day (flowers for women 18 years old and older) - call your mom or send a prayer to her!  If you are a mother, pat yourself on the back.
We will hear readings from Acts 16:9-15 and John 14:23-29 - if you accept the Spirit of Jesus Christ (John), then how do you find and claim your ‘call’ (Acts) and once you claim it, are you prepared to follow it through?  Paul’s call was to put on his Jerusalem cruisers and cruise.  Lydia (Acts) was a Gentile believer who took it to heart and changed her life and the lives of those in her house.  How does the Spirit change us?
Blanket Sunday (remember the tent, bed, blanket, cover and little kid carrier) is this Sunday and we will send blankets out into the world - after you give us some funds first - i per family is a nice number (or more!)!
Habitat for Humanity - I need those who wish to go to let me know on Sunday; if we cannot get more volunteers then we will disconnect from York, PA at this time.  There will be other times so do not fall back asleep.
Peace,
John
