Happy Thanksgiving Friday,
I hope and trust that your Thanksgiving was a filling and fulfilling time friends and family.
This Sunday is the beginning of Advent. We will begin our traditional advent wreath candle lighting which will continue through all four Sundays in Advent and conclude on Christmas Eve (the 24th this year). The scriptures this Sunday are: Romans 13:11-14 and Matthew 24: 36-44 with a sermon entitled: “Awake-Alert-Alive.”
A couple of reminders:
If you wish to financially support the church on a regular basis in 2011 and you have not already returned an Estimate of Giving Card — you may do that and bring it to church or pick one up in the pews at church or send it in to Kathy Barrett’s attention. If you have misplaced your card — you can just send a note to Kathy and she will log it in.
Just another reminder that if you wish to add your voice to the choir for the Christmas season — you are invited to do so. The choir begins practicing at 8:15 on Sunday mornings.
Peace and Joy to you all,
In Christ,
Gary

Blessings to you all,
We need a bit of help getting the Christmas tree. If you have the energy to plug in we could use some assistance. Here is the scoop. We will be leaving the church at 11:30 — bring a change of clothes from PROPER CHURCH CLOTHING – to PROPER TREE GATHERING CLOTHING — boots will be good. I know — I hear what your thinking — sometimes we need boots in church — I get it. I will bring a tarp and rope but we may need another tarp so the muddied tarp used in the woods will not be used in the church. I expect that we can get the tree and put it up in 2 hours and 16 minutes.
It should be a fun time on a sunny crisp afternoon.
Thank you
Gary

Blessings to you all,
This is the season that so easily brings music to the heart – to the soul and to the world. If you would like to add your voice to our church choir through this holiday season — consider yourself PERSONALLY invited. We do not have a mid-week practice. We practice on Sunday mornings beginning at 8:15 in the Fellowship Hall. If you sense a tug to sing, please join us as we share music with each other and the world or at least a part of the world.
Singingly in Christ,
Gary

We’ll decorate the sanctuary. Because we will be moving ladders around the church and working in the balcony, this will be a gathering for adults.
