Blessings to you all,

This Sunday’s scripture readings are: Micah 6:1-8 and Matthew 5:1-12. These two texts are very very well-known. The Sermon title is: “On Earth As It Is In Heaven.” I go that from somewhere. How do we live into this prayer that is so easily and so often recited? We will work on that a bit this Sunday.

The Annual Meeting follows worship this Sunday. Please bring your copy of the Annual Report. It might not hurt to put your name on it – so — just in case you happen to put it down – and forget it – we can return it to your mailbox.

We have received the Covenant Hills camp schedule for this coming summer. If you would like a copy of the brochure you can see Mike O’Daniel or reply to this and I will put a copy in your mailbox for Sunday morning. Just a reminder – that the church (your beloved church) will be providing camp scholarships again this summer).

Hope to see you on Sunday.

In Christ,

Gary

Blessings and Warmth to you all,

This Sunday’s service will focus on Psalm 27, Corinthians 1:10-18 and Matthew 4:17-23 with a sermon entitled: “Living in a Mobile Home.” According to my inside sources (maybe outside sources) it is going to be a bit nippy this weekend. Please take care of yourselves and check with those who you know who may be a bit vulnerable.

In Christ,

Gary

Peace and Joy and Warmth to you all,

This Sunday we will worship at 9:30. The scriptures are: Psalm 40, Isaiah 49:1-7 and John 1:29-42. The sermon is entitled: “You Raise Me Up.” I got that from a wonderful song sung by Celtic Woman as their finale song. It fits very well with Psalm 40. Your homework assignment, prior to Sundays worship experience, is to go on-line and listen and watch Celtic Woman sing “You Raise Me Up.” You may even want to print out the lyrics and use it as a prayer. Not to put pressure on you but — there may be a pop-quiz. If you come into church on Sunday and smell the very memorable aroma of recently mimeographed paper – your heart will skip a beat and you will be energized to face the music of a pop-quiz. It should be an interesting time together and I hope you can make it.

God Bless You All,

in Christ,

Gary

To our faith family
Blessings and Peace to you all,

This Sunday we will focus primarily on Isaiah 42:1-9 with a bit of help from Matthew 3:13-17 with a message entitled: “Servanthood 101.” This message is offered for credit. If you would like to audit this message — you certainly may come and listen in with no obligation to do anything else. For full credit, though, some homework, outside of the sanctuary, will be required. There is no pre-reading necessary. Just come as you are.

Following coffee hour all are invited to join in a workshop by Prem Prakash focusing on different meditational approaches. This offers us all an opportunity to hear about and experience a number of practices (disciplines) in the realm of meditation.

I hope to see you on Sunday

In Christ,

Gary

Peace and Joy and a Blessed New Year to all,

With New Years on Saturday — worshipping on Sunday may not be a bad way to kick off the year. The scriptures are: Ephesians 1:3-10 and John 1:1-18 with a fitting message for the day: “Lighten Up.”

We will be celebrating communion this Sunday and we will be de-decorating after coffee hour. If you can help with this please bring some grub clothes as we will be taking down the tree and the garland and the greens and the manger scene (the animals have been on the altar for a month now – who knows what shape things are in?

See you on Sunday

In Christ,

Gary
