Blessings All,

If things continue as predicted we will  have a guest this Sunday.  She has not been here before and I am not so sure we will want her back again — but being good Christians we will welcome her or at least fake it well. Her name is Irene and I understand she has quite a temper.  I have no idea what her timing will be or how she will act when she does arrive — but if things get rough — this maybe one Sunday you may wish to stay home.  I know that is not your normal routine — but consider it.  If you do stay at home– you may wish to use the morning focusing on Exodus 3:1-15 and Matthew 16:21-26 and come up with a message around the title:  “Living in Denial”  (hint; check out Matthew).  For your home hymns you can Google both “The God of Abraham Praise” and “I Have decided to Follow Jesus.”  For a home Responsive Reading give Romans 12:9-18 a try with each voice taking a verse as you go from person to person.

The plans are to hold worship downstairs – we will be using snorkels – but I think this will work.  This will be the final Sunday this Summer for downstairs worship as we will begin September up in the sanctuary — the bigger fancier well-painted room upstairs.  The one with the pews and the pew cushions.

Please be safe this weekend and check in on the vulnerable ones.

peace in Christ,

Gary

Blessings and Peace to you all,

This Sunday’s service will focus on three texts – Exodus 1:8-2:10, Romans 12:1-8 and Matthew 16:13-20 with a wiz bang message entitled:  ”Personal Respond Ability” — kind of catchy – isn’t it?

Sunday School will be beginning on September 11th.  Donna Lalumiere is forming a number of teaching teams which will allow flexibility of commitment and allow for teachers to be in worship on a regular basis.  If you have felt the tug to be a meaningful specific in the lives of children and would like to participate on a teaching team — please let Donna know or reply to this email and I will forward your name to her.  We will be using a user friendly, lectionary based curriculum this year which will allow for all members of the family to hear and engage in the same scripture passage whether in Sunday School or in worship.  Please prayerful consider plugging into this very important ministry within our church.

In Christ,

Gary

Blessings to you all,

As we enter another summer weekend – just a reminder that the magnet that pulls us through is coming on Sunday morning – say about 9:30 in the Fellowship Hall.  Oh speaking of 9:30 Sunday morning – the scriptures will be Genesis 45:1-15 as we rap up the Joseph story and Matthew 15:21-28.  What is your take on this story of Jesus and the Canaanite woman?  I will share with you my bit of my interpretation of what is going on in the story.  The sermon title is:  ”New Territory.”

Hope to see you on Sunday

in Christ,

Gary
