Blessings to you all,

This Sunday is the 4th Sunday of Advent. The texts are: 2 Samuel 7:1-11 and Luke 1:26-38 with a message: “In Control.” The children will be offering the annual Christmas Pageant entitled: “Matt and Lucy’s Version Births.” This will be a bit different and maybe a bit educational as well. Just a quick reminder that if you selected a gift to get for a person in our area from the “giving tree” please bring it in this Sunday (wrapped).

Thank you and Blessings

In Faith

Blessings and Peace to you all,

This Sunday is the 3rd Sunday in Advent. The scriptures are: Isaiah 61:1-4, 8-11 and John 1:6-8,19-28 with a sermon entitled: “Who Are You?” The children will be practicing the pageant during the Sunday School time in preparation for the Pageant on the 18th. The Mission “Giving Tree” is on the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall. This will be the Sunday to select a gift wish for a someone in our area. During the week – purchase it, wrap it and bring it to church on the 18th. The Mission Committee will make sure the presents get to the families. The Mission Committee will also continue the alternative Christmas fair this Sunday.

Hope to see you on Sunday In Christ,

Gary

Tomorrow is Communion Sunday at the Congregational Church. That means two things, besides the obvious bread and juice thing: 1. it’s food shelf Sunday, and Mary-Anne suggested personal items such as toothbrushes and the like and 2. consider donating to the Deacon’s fund: this extra donation goes to unbudgeted expenses in the spiritual life of the church. See you there!

This Sunday is the last (final) Sunday in the church liturgical year. Advent begins on the 27th (next Sunday). We are planning a slightly (OK completely) different sermon time. Through readings and hymns and reflections we will recap the church year from Advent through the Season of Pentecost. I hope it will not only be interesting but maybe even insightful (filled with insight). It should be fun and I hope you can make it and maybe even invite a friend or two.

Just an FYI — there will not be an ecumenical Thanksgiving Service provided by the Vergennes area clergy this year.

Peace and Joy to all

Gary

Blessings to you all,

First — the “more”

This Sunday we will celebrate our life together with an opportunity to offer our Estimates of Giving for 2012. Following church everyone is invited to share in a luncheon put on by Diane Tracy. I have someone coming in to set up tables and chairs on Saturday late afternoon and put tablecloths on the tables. We will need a bit of help on Sunday morning putting silverware on the tables. If a few people could do this around 9:00 I think it will work.

The children can bring their candy in this week and I will make sure it gets to places of need.

This Sunday’s service will focus on Matthew 25:14-30 and I Thessalonians 5:1-11 with a message entitled: “Becoming.”

We will have a very special “Responsive Reading” this week entitled: “A Modern Psalm.”

I am looking forward to seeing you on Sunday.

In Christ,

Gary
